Description
The Hildebrandt lab within the Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Research Assistant to help conduct experiments and maintain general laboratory operations. The primary function of this role is to provide support for ongoing research efforts related to mouse models of eating disorders and binge eating. This position will be primarily responsible for executing mouse behavioral experiments, performing surgeries, data management, and providing general administrative support for the lab. This position is grant funded. Responsibilities: Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including mouse behavioral experiments, surgeries, histology, and microscopy. Participate in meetings, trainings and seminars, both internally and externally. Assist in data entry, management, and analysis. Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding experimental design and running experiments. Provide support for grant proposal and manuscript development and submission. Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or current enrollment, with some experience in research environment. One year of work experience in a research project and/or related mouse behavioral research is preferred. Familiarity with computers and common software packages preferred.
