Research Associate, Department of Medicine Entity: Aga Khan University Location: Karachi Introduction: The Department of Medicine at The Aga Khan University Hospital comprises independent sections of Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, and Pulmonary & Critical Care. The department has over 70+ full-time Faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. The Department of Medicine at Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Associate in the Section of Gastroenterology. Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: Assist investigators in overall research program implementation Conduct literature searches and support development of study protocols, grant and ERC applications Collect data using qualitative and quantitative research methods Support development, implementation, and validation of research tools Perform data entry, cleaning, management, and analysis Assist in manuscript writing, abstracts, and research reports Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports Coordinate communication among research teams and stakeholders Perform other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator. Required Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in MBBS, MD, BDS, or BSc Nursing from a recognized university 1–2 years of relevant research experience in an academic or clinical research setting Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods Experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation Strong literature search and academic writing skills Proficiency in REDCap, SPSS, MS Office, EndNote or similar tools Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team Willingness to travel to field sites, if required. Responsibilities
The Research Associate will support the implementation of research programs by conducting literature searches, collecting and analyzing data, and developing study protocols. Additionally, they will assist in manuscript writing and coordinate communication among research teams and stakeholders.
