Full time starting salary is normally in the range £32,546 to £35,116 with potential progression once in post to £39,355
Grade: 6
Part time (30 hours per week)
Fixed Term contract up to March 2027

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

  • Work within specified research grants and/or projects
  • Operate within area of specialism
  • Contribute to publications

MAIN DUTIES

  • Collect research data; this may be through a variety of research methods, such as scientific experimentation, literature reviews, and research interviews
  • Analyse research data as directed
  • To disseminate research findings using appropriate and effective media, such as publication in peer review journals and presentation at conferences and seminars
  • Present research outputs, including drafting academic publications or parts thereof, for example at seminars and as posters
  • Develop or adapt techniques, models and methods
  • Provide guidance as required to support staff and any students who may be assisting with research
  • Deal with problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines
  • Carry out administrative tasks related directly to the delivery of the research
  • Promotes equality and values diversity acting as a role model and fostering an inclusive working culture
  • To participate in Research Strategy meetings and update the project team and the commissioner on the progress of the research
  • Assist in coordinating patient and public involvement strategies and ensure that materials are available in lay language for effective communication to patients and the wider public
  • Contribute to the development of end-of-year reports
  • Identify own training needs and undertake training that can facilitate the coordination and completion of research-related tasks
  • Adhere to University policies on health and safety, data protection, and all other relevant policies
