REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related life sciences field with 2–4 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with microbial fermentation and downstream processing.
  • Skills in biomolecule purification and conjugation techniques.
  • Working knowledge of analytical instrumentation including HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, and related systems.
  • Familiarity with cGMP requirements, laboratory safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records in compliance with quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with vaccine development, polysaccharide-protein conjugates, or biologics manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with scale-up from bench to pilot or production scale.
  • Prior experience in a regulated biotech or pharmaceutical environment.

    Physical Demands:

  • Frequently use of office equipment that requires manual dexterity to operate (i.e. computers, phones, etc.).

  • Occasional carrying, handling, and reaching for objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequently sit or stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

The Research Associate II will be responsible for supporting both routine production and process development activities in the R&D department. The role involves hands-on laboratory work in microbial fermentation, biomolecule purification, conjugation, and analytical characterization, with strict adherence to cGMP and safety standards.
