We seek an enthusiastic and highly motivated post-doctoral research scientist to work on a project, funded by the Medical Research Council, to examine the immunological pathways and physiologic processes that can be targeted to develop new treatments against brain tumours that form in individuals with the rare disease NF2 schwannomatosis.
The successful candidate will join the lab of Prof. Kevin Couper and work closely alongside the labs of Prof. David Brough and Prof. Omar Pathmanaban based in FBMH.
The successful candidate will have (or expect to hold shortly) a PhD with a strong background in immunology and, ideally, neuroscience or neuro-oncology. The candidate must have excellent technical skills in microscopy (and tissue / cell staining techniques), flow cytometry, and have extensive experience of working with murine models, preferably models of neuroinflammation and / or neuro-oncology. Training will be available in all areas of the project. Experience performing intracranial surgery in mice would be advantageous.
