ABOUT THE ROLE
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research position in transportation engineering and data science based in the Centre for Transport Engineering and Modelling at Imperial College London and working as part of the Transport Strategy Centre. The objective of the research post is to develop and apply data science methods to benchmark, evaluate and forecast the performance of aviation systems. A particular aspect of performance that the research will focus on is the transition to net-zero aviation and the evaluation of associated interventions via causal inference.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
The research will involve manipulation and analysis of large and high-dimensional datasets as well as theoretical modelling work and causal inference. The Research Associate must be self-motivated, be able to produce high quality original research, and have experience in preparing papers for journal publication and conference submission. They will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to attract external research funding.
