Description
Description About iBio iBio, Inc. is a preclinical stage biotechnology company leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) for the development of hard-to-drug precision antibodies in the cardiometabolic and obesity space. Our core mission is to harness the potential of AI and machine learning (“ML”) to unveil novel biologics which other scientists have been unable to develop. Through our innovative AI Drug Discovery Platform, we have been able to identify differentiated molecules aimed to address unmet needs by current glucagon-like peptide-1 (“GLP-1”) receptor agonists. For more information, visit www.ibioinc.com or follow us on LinkedIn. The Opportunity As a Research Associate, In Vivo Pharmacology (contract), you will play a critical role in advancing novel therapeutic candidates from concept to preclinical validation. You will generate high-quality in vivo data that directly influences drug development decisions and program strategy. You’ll work hands-on with rodent models of obesity and metabolic disease, supporting studies that evaluate efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of innovative biologics discovered through AI. What You’ll Do: • Execute in vivo rodent studies with minimal supervision while strictly adhering to protocols and animal welfare standards • Perform IV, SC, and IP dosing in mice and rats • Collect and track critical in-study measurements including: - Body weight - Food intake - Health observations - DEXA scans • Conduct metabolic and behavioral assays including: - Acute and chronic feeding studies - Exercise tolerance testing - Glucose and insulin tolerance tests • Maintain high-quality, compliant study documentation and raw data records • Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety standards • Collect blood and tissues using approved methods: - Tail vein - Submandibular - Retro-orbital - Cardiac puncture • Perform supporting rodent procedures including: - Subcutaneous implantation - Wound suturing - Oral gavage • Support experimental design and study execution for metabolic disease models • Perform supporting wet lab assays such as: - ELISA - RNA extraction - Lipid extraction - MSD-based analyses Requirements What We’re Looking For: • Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field with 1+ years of experience in an academic or industry lab setting, plus 1-3 combined years of experience in an IACUC accredited vivarium with hands-on animal training (preferred); or, • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field with 2+ years of experience in an academic or industry lab setting, plus 1-3 combined years of experience in an IACUC accredited vivarium with hands-on animal training (required). What Sets You Apart Required Experience: • Hands-on experience with rodent in vivo pharmacology studies • Strong skills in rodent handling, care, and dosing (IV, SC, IP) • Experience running metabolic and behavioral assays • Strong data integrity and documentation practices • Ability to independently execute studies while maintaining protocol compliance • Working knowledge of IACUC standards, animal welfare, and lab safety Preferred Experience: • Blood and tissue collection experience across multiple techniques • Rodent surgical and procedural experience • Study planning or experimental design support experience • Wet lab assay experience supporting in vivo programs At iBio, your expertise will shape the future of biologics, with opportunities to drive innovation, collaborate with top scientists, and make a real-world impact. Bring your expertise. Lead with vision. Drive discoveries that change lives.
