Department Institute of Global Health Development Entity Medical College Location Karachi, Pakistan Introduction to the Aga Khan University: The Institute for Global Health and Development at the Aga Khan University is seeking ambitious and dynamic research officers willing to work on two priority public health and policy research projects over the next 6-12 months. The selected research officers will directly work with IGHD leadership who is seeking candidates with strong analytical and writing skills. This is a grant-funded contractual position. Responsibilities You will be responsible to supervise and monitor the research activities including data collection as well as maintain necessary records, create and sustain liaison with the relevant stakeholders for the smooth implementation of all necessary activities of the project. Specific responsibilities include to: Supervise and monitor all project activities – including data collection and analysis; coordinate with the team to ensure the protocols of the study are being followed along with the timely completeness of project related activities; review the literature related to assigned topic; actively work on proposal development of research studies; liaison with granting agencies and other stake holders for project operations; evaluate and validate the data collected; conduct assigned qualitative and quantitative analysis; develop and formulate search strategy; train and mentor, the junior staff; develop the data collection tools as per the requirement of the assignment; contribute significantly to peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals; design and submit weekly progress reports as per the guidelines; perform any other task assigned by the Supervisor. Requirements You should have: MBBS/ Bachelors in relevant field; candidates with an additional Master’s degree will be preferred; 1 year experience preferably in field/Community/Paediatrics; strong analytical and writing skills; ability to work in a team; ability to establish harmonious working relations at the place of work; flexibility in taking over additional/new responsibilities when required by project; strong communication and interpersonal skills; basic Knowledge of data collection, analysis and interpretation in terms of report writing and biostatics.
