POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Research Associate to support our expanding cell repository operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, including aseptic techniques, scale-up, and sample preparation for quality control (QC) assays. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity and traceability of our cell culture systems and supporting routine QC processes including mycoplasma, MAP, cell viability testing and STR testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture techniques in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience in aseptic technique, media preparation, and cryopreservation.
  • Familiarity with preparing samples for quality control assays.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g., GLP/GMP).
  • Familiarity with LIMS or electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
  • Prior exposure to QC testing workflows.
    Job Type: Contract
    Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, expand, and cryopreserve mammalian cell lines in a controlled environment.
  • Perform routine cell culture operations including media preparation, cell seeding, passaging, and harvesting using aseptic techniques.
  • Scale-up cultures to meet repository and experimental needs.
  • Prepare, label, and document test samples for quality control assays such as:
  • Mycoplasma detection
  • STR profiling
  • Cell Viability test
  • Cell viability assessments
  • Accurately track and maintain sample inventory and testing documentation using laboratory information systems (LIMS).
  • Collaborate with QC and R&D teams to ensure timely and accurate sample submissions.
  • Follow SOPs and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
