Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Research Associate to join our Research department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model. Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group is comprised of more than 1,700 Permanente physicians and nearly 300 staff professionals who come together to make a positive impact on the health and lives of more than 800,000 members in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Reporting to the Lead Research Project Manager of Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI), the Research Associate will support project managers, research investigators and/or research scientists in a mid-level project management capacity to provide support across multiple initiatives, including clinical trials and observational study management, and advancing strategic initiatives. You will manage relationships between community members who serve as research advisors and MAPRI’s leadership and operational team. You can expect to: Conduct patient and participant recruitment, perform literature reviews, design and develop surveys and study databases, and basic data management Assist with the preparation of grant proposals, manuscripts, abstract preparations, and IRB applications, including continuing review submissions Assist the Associate Director of Clinical Trials with regulatory submissions, updating and tracking clinical trial processes including certifications/ licenses/CVs, developing training logs, and tracking the progress for all clinical trials Collaborate with research team members and other departments to facilitate project activities and resolve any issues Create presentations for project managers, research investigators, and research scientists to effectively communicate research findings and project updates Assist in the development of surveys and study databases Manage project tasks, schedules, action items, and follow-up activities to ensure smooth project execution What is required: Bachelor’s degree in public health, health policy, biological sciences, or communications is required; Master’s degree is preferred Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in project management, communications, community engagement and/or health policy experience is required Strong organizational, detail-orientation and analytical skills is required Strong Experience in integrating input from multiple sources and developing cohesive and actionable insights Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Ability to perform literature searches, organize references, and express complex information to non-scientific audiences.
