ABOUT US
The School of Science and Technology at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is an exciting multidisciplinary environment for learning, teaching and research, with some of the best facilities in the UK. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality teaching and diverse, real-world research. We specialise in biosciences, chemistry, computing and technology, as well as engineering, forensic science, mathematics, physics and sport science. This mix of traditional and modern subjects encourages and inspires future innovators.
Our Department of Sports Science resides within the School of Science and Technology on the Clifton Campus and has a long and established history for delivering sport-related programmes. Recent investment into the Department has enhanced our physical resources, research environment and the student learning experience. With four well-equipped physiology laboratories, the British Olympic Association approved environmental chamber, the recently refurbished performance analysis suite and two biomechanics and neuromuscular performance laboratories in the £4m Natural Sciences Research Centre, we offer a friendly environment of excellence and invite you to join us.
For any informal queries about the role or the team, please contact Dr Jessica Piasecki Associate Professor at jessica.piasecki@ntu.ac.uk.
The principal purpose of the job will be to contribute to the development of research outputs in Women in Sport as part of a funded bid by the International Olympic Committee entitled: Supporting elite female athlete health needs: how does policy play out in practice? This project will involve a lot of qualitative data collection across surveys and informal interviews, thus it will be ideal if the candidate has adequate experience in these methods, as well as appropriate data analysis.
The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to the interpretation, reporting, and preparation of the findings for academic publication and wider dissemination. In addition, the role will involve helping to organise and host networking events with key stakeholders connected to the project.
For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We’ll still consider applications even if you don’t meet every single one of the requirements, so don’t be put off if you don’t match them perfectly. Please do enquire if you require support with flexible working patterns.
