Department Overview:
The Division of Surgical Oncology focuses on the surgical management of tumors and especially cancerous tumors. Our faculty operate within the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and are recognized as international leaders in personalized medicine, diagnostics and cancer research. The division co-directs the hepato-pancreatico-biliary fellowship program together with the Division of Abdominal Organ Transplantation.
This position is under the general supervision of the Chair, Department of Surgery, and direct supervision of the Head of the Division of Surgical Oncology. The duties include accessing and maintaining information to support and analyze data to assist in the research related to primary and metastatic cancer involving the liver and other oncology related disease. This position will work closely with faculty to gather data and facilitate research. This position will monitor project status to ensure progress toward completion and informs faculty of project progress.

Function/Duties of Position:

  • Maintain a liver tumor database related to hepatocellular carcinoma and metastatic cancer.
  • Maintain a liver resection database for primary and metastatic liver.
  • Clinical Research Coordinator for Polyglycolic Acid Mesh to Prevent Pancreatic Fistula After Distal Pancreatectomy: A Multi-Center Efficacy Trial.
  • Work on additional data projects as they develop.
  • Assist in writing for grant support.
  • Prepare documentation for IRB submission and maintain IRB approval in a current state.
  • Assist with data retrieval and analysis for preparation of manuscripts and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with other researchers and faculty members in GI, radiology and medical oncology to maintain and utilize liver tumor database.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field, AND
  • 3 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, AND
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency MS Office.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous detail to data and study procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current ACRP or SoCRA certification.
  • Proficiency using SPSS and other statistical software.

Additional Details:
Work schedule during normal business hours of operation.
Monday 9:00am -2:30pm
Wednesday 7:ooam -12:00pm
Thursday 9:00am - 2:30pm
Friday 9:00am - 2:30pm
