The position involves the execution of laboratory experiments, processing of clinical study samples, analysis and documentation of experimental data, and support of laboratory quality and operational activities in a regulated environment.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Perform laboratory activities in accordance with approved SOPs, work instructions, and experimental protocols with appropriate guidance.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments to support the identification and verification of DNA methylation-based biomarkers.
  • Support the development, optimization, verification, and transfer of (epigenetic) qPCR- and ddPCR-based assays.
  • Perform experimental quality control activities and support the qualification and release of plasmid standards and other critical reagents.
  • Receive, prepare, process, and document clinical trial samples in accordance with defined procedures and study requirements.
  • Perform epigenetic immune monitoring analyses, including bisulfite conversion and purification of DNA samples, qPCR analysis, data evaluation, and quality control.
  • Analyze, interpret, document, and communicate experimental results to project scientists and team members.
  • Identify technical issues, investigate deviations, and support troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
  • Prepare reagents, controls, and laboratory materials required for routine and development activities.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory automation and liquid handling systems.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, maintenance, calibration support, and associated documentation activities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable laboratory records in accordance with applicable quality requirements.
  • Support the preparation, review, and revision of SOPs, work instructions, protocols, reports, and other controlled documents.
  • Participate in method evaluations, feasibility studies, and implementation of new laboratory technologies.
  • Collaborate with scientists, project managers, and laboratory personnel to meet project timelines and milestones.
  • Support laboratory organization, inventory management, ordering of consumables, and monitoring of laboratory supplies.
  • Perform all activities in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and data integrity requirements.
  • Contribute to inspection and audit readiness activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Practical experience with molecular biology laboratory techniques.
  • Experience working with scientific procedures, protocols, and laboratory documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • German language skills at a minimum B1 level.
