Introduction The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for the betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level. Responsibilities You will be responsible to supervise and monitor the research activities including data collection as well as maintain necessary records, create and sustain liaison with the relevant stakeholders for the smooth implementation of all necessary activities of the project. Specific responsibilities include to: · provide quality patient care at the peri-urban primary healthcare center · enroll patients for ongoing research studies and maintain organized records · ensure implementation of laboratory protocols and timely reporting to the lab manager · supervise and monitor accurate entry of laboratory results · support compliance with local and international audits and visits · log and track samples received from field sites · collect samples from field sites and document all required information · prepare specifications and justifications, and assist in the procurement of laboratory consumables and reagents · oversee sample shipments to international laboratories as required by granting agencies · ensure proper filing, completeness, and archiving of Case Report Forms (CRFs) · develop and implement QA/QC plans and report deviations to the Lab Manager · monitor specimen processing, instrument maintenance, and external QA/QC coordination with reference laboratories · support development, optimization, and implementation of laboratory protocols as required by granting agencies. Requirements You should have: · a Master's degree in biosciences or equivalent · at least 4–5 years of experience, including implementing study protocols · knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, and methods · computer literacy along with strong mathematical, analytical, and research skills · excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills · integrity and strong research ethics.
