The Mental Health and Addiction Research Group within the Department of Health Sciences are looking to appoint a Research Associate to support the co-design and adaptation of an intervention as part of the DIAMONDS programme (Diabetes and Mental Illness, Improving Outcomes and Self-management) which is funded by NIHR Programme Grants for Applied Research. https://www.diamondscollaboration.org.uk/
In the role, you will work with the Chief Investigator, Professor Najma Siddiqi, as part of a multidisciplinary team.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION NEEDED

• PhD in health or social science related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of severe mental illness and long-term physical conditions.
• Experience of planning and facilitating stakeholder workshops.
• Knowledge and/ or experience of health intervention development.
• Skills in writing and preparation of content for intervention manuals, guides or similar.
• Skills in evidence synthesis.

ROLE

The successful applicant will work with the DIAMONDS team to develop self-management support for people with multiple long-term conditions and severe mental illness.

DUTIES:

To work with colleagues to co-design a self- management intervention for people with severe mental illness and multiple long-term conditions.

• To synthesise evidence and key learning from DIAMONDS and other self-management programmes.
• To plan, organise and facilitate co-design workshops with stakeholders (people with lived experience of severe mental illness and long-term conditions; researchers; clinicians).
• Preparation and writing of intervention content in plain English.
• To collaborate effectively with a range of internal and external colleagues in development and production of the intervention.
