Description

Research Associate / Senior Technician (f/m/d)
Vaccine Generation Research-grade Production and Release
Would you like to be part of a pharmaceutical company striving to address unmet medical needs? Are you ready to become an integral part of Bavarian Nordic’s innovative R&D programs? Great! Because we are looking for highly motivated Research Associate / Senior Technician (f/m/d) to help us in the research-grade production, release, and characterization of promising vaccine candidates that feed into our product pipeline.
Boost our team
In our team, we are responsible for the production and characterization of virus seed stocks that can be used for GMP manufacturing of promising vaccine candidates. We produce viral vector stocks to meet the needs of our R&D programs and collaborate with groups across early- and late-stage product development areas.
This is how you impact the people we are here to serve

Our vaccines make a real difference to people, and no matter your role we all contribute to protecting lives every day. These would be your main tasks:

  • Perform routine production of research grade virus vector stocks and associated release testing (e.g. virus titer determination, genomic identity/purity, mycoplasma and sterility assessments, transgene expression analysis, etc.)
  • Support the implementation of new production/ release methods and troubleshooting of existing ones.
  • Perform general laboratory maintenance and organizational tasks (reagent preparation and ordering, equipment maintenance, archiving of documents)
  • Document laboratory procedures and results in English according to established internal quality standards.
  • Support data analysis, report and SOP writing as well as internal presentation of results

Are you our next pioneer?

Succeeding with our vision of becoming one of the largest pure-play vaccine companies in the world is no walk in the park, and that is why we need people like you who are determined to make it happen and have the following qualifications and mindset:

  • Technical degree (e.g. BTA, MTA, CTA, PTA, or equivalent) with at least 5+ years of work experience or a Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. molecular & cell biology, virology, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with cell-based assays and virus work (e.g. transfection of cells, production and titration of viruses)
  • Molecular biology techniques (e.g. DNA/RNA extraction, PCR techniques, DNA sequencing analysis, SDS-PAGE, western blot, coomasie stain, etc.)
  • Experience in flow cytometry, bioreactors and virus purification techniques (e.g. by FLPC and/or TFF) is of advantage
  • Good documentation and communication skills in English and German
  • Enjoy working in a multinational team with shared responsibilities
  • Well organized with a high attention to detail
  • Agile and open-minded towards changes
  • Positive and self-motivated with a “can do” attitude
