Description
The School of Pharmacy under the Faculty of Medicine in CUHK is seeking an outstanding candidate to join Prof. Joan Zuo's Research Team as Research Associate, to support a project approved by the Chinese Medicine Development Fund (CMDF). Applicants should have (i) a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, (bio)Statistics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology or a related life sciences field; (ii) experience and proven skills in at least one programming languages (Python, PHP, JavaScript, Perl, Java, et al); (iii) a background in basic pharmacology, genetics, pharmacometrics, PBPK and/or systems pharmacology is considered beneficial; (iv) the ability to work as part of the team, track record of publications and demonstrated motivation and passion; (v) proven ability to work independently and excellent organisational skills; and (vi) strong communication skills, with fluency in written and verbal English. The appointee will be responsible for (a) acquiring global pharmaceutical information using our internally developed web crawler platform; (b) classifying the collected data and extracting project-relevant information using deep learning techniques or large language models; (c) developing related front-end and back-end interfaces for the project; (d) monitoring the overall progress of the project; and (e) performing other tasks as assigned. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
