SONO Sleep is a NHLBI-funded study that aims to determine the efficacy of a cognitive behavioral treatment for insomnia (CBT-I) in adults with insomnia with short sleep duration (ISS) vs. insomnia with normal sleep duration (INS), and to examine the efficacy of trazodone among non-remitters to CBT-I (https://www.sonosleepstudy.org/). The Research Associate will be responsible for actigraphy (program, mail, track device and download and score the data). They will assist with phone screening; issue participant payments; prepare pts. for Home Study by programming their BP monitor and instructing them on using actiwatch, BP monitor, and sleep diary. They will cover staff vacation and overflow for the following: obtaining anthropometric measurements (height, weight, BP); administering MoCA cognitive assessment (training provided); giving participants tour of sleep lab; accompany participants for bloodwork and EKG; spin/freeze saliva samples. This position is grant funded. Responsibilities: Assist in data collection, schedule assessments Oversee actigraphy (program and track devices, issue/mail to participants, and download, and score the data) Educate participants regarding their study participation and assist them in working their way through the study. Perform phone interviews for research project protocol(s) as needed. Maintain and update subject information database. Conduct interviews with research participants under supervision as needed. Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology or related research field or current enrollment in a related Bachelor's Degree program with direct experience in a research environment required. Familiarity with computers and common software packages required. Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred, Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
