Scope full time and for a maximum of three years
The Institute of Process Systems Engineering pursues research on process intensification by developing innovative model-based design and optimization approaches and integration with experimental research. The interdisciplinary research activities are oftentimes conducted in collaboration with academic and industrial partners, focusing on innovative process concepts for energy-efficient, (bio-)reactive and hybrid processes. Our research activities pursue the goal to develop resource-, energy- and cost efficient processes for a sustainable production in the chemical and biochemical industry. The aim of the project is to develop new and efficient methods for modelling and optimizing distillation processes. The experimental effort for modelling is to be significantly reduced by a combination of model-based experimental design, optimization and innovative measurement methods.
