As a Research Chemist you will develop aerospace sealants and adhesives products. You will also assist with the scale-up, qualification, and commercialization of these materials. You will report to the Product Development Manager and is located in our Aerospace Materials Science & Technology Center, Burbank, CA.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Ph.D in Chemistry or Materials Science and Engineering or Polymer Science and Engineering is required.
  • You will have the ability to use chemistry fundamentals to design sealants and adhesives that meet customer requirements.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
    Salary Range - $88,000 - $105,000

Responsibilities
  • Work with the marketing team and customers to identify gaps in our current product offerings and future product needs. Translate the gaps and needs into product design criteria and specifications.
  • Develop technical domain expertise - develop detailed knowledge regarding competitive products, intellectual property, literature - and on that basis develop technical plans for product development.
  • Promote product development based on sound scientific and statistical methodologies.
  • Manage project deliverables, including project management, capturing updates, meeting internally and externally, and reporting.
  • Oversee and mentor junior team members to work on design, including formulation and testing.
