Clinical: To provide clinical input and management of Genomic Medicine Service clinical research and innovation activities with the aim of improving patient care. To contribute to ongoing and new initiatives in discussion with the Clinical Supervisor and North East and Yorkshire Genomic Medicine Service R&I leadership. Act as a clinical liaison with the Genomic Laboratory Hub scientific team to enable appropriate reporting and interpretation of genomic reports related to R&I. Any other duties as may be deemed reasonable with the grade of the post as directed by Clinical Supervisor.
Administrative: To undertake appropriate administration tasks, including report writing and submission of articles for publication. To comply with intellectual property rights, information governance, and other Trust policies including financial regulations, equal opportunities, equality and diversity and health and safety. Research: To plan, develop and deliver research and innovation projects under the guidance of the Clinical Supervisor To attend relevant research meetings and seminars within the group and appropriate scientific conferences To comply with research and innovation governance policies and frameworks (e.g. GDPR, ICH-GCP, HTA).
Teaching: To undertake any necessary training and/or development, the post holder will receive specific training in oncogenomic concepts. To provide advanced training in oncogenomics to trainees interested in developing a specialist interest in oncogenomics and develop effective and clinically relevant online educational resources for the cancer care workforce around cancer susceptibility genetics and somatic genomics. Flexibility: In line with the Trusts core value of placing patients at the heart of everything we do, we are developing our service provision to be responsive to the needs of our patients. To meet those needs some staff groups will be increasingly asked to work a more flexible work pattern so that they can offer services in the evening or weekend.
As a result any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern or working in the future if required, including evening and weekend work
