Research Coordinator, Department of Community Health Sciences Entity Medical College Location Karachi, Pakistan Introduction Aga Khan University's (AKU) Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is a preeminent public health institution in the country. This is a grant-funded, contractual position. Responsibilities You will be responsible to: increase community demand for vaccination services through social networking and community engagement activities conduct household visits in assigned project areas facilitate referrals to immunization centers identify, map, and engage local influencers, particularly women influencers, to support immunization efforts develop and maintain liaison with birth attendants, including BA, SBA, and TBA networks support community communication through social media, WhatsApp, and other digital platforms organize community awareness sessions and events promoting routine immunization facilitate community engagement sessions at identified venues within the community build community capacity for interpersonal communication regarding vaccination maintain daily activity reports and area social profiles work closely with vaccinators, community-based vaccinators, and other frontline health workers This is a grant funded contractual position. Requirements You should have: a bachelor's degree in any discipline; with Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE); OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) qualification at least two years of relevant experience, preferably in the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) or Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) experience in community mobilization and immunization-related activities strong understanding of local communities and community dynamics ability to engage and work effectively with local influencers and stakeholders strong networking, communication, and interpersonal skills proficiency in Urdu and at least one local language (Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, or Seraiki) familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools. Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
Responsibilities
The coordinator is responsible for increasing vaccination demand through community engagement, household visits, and networking with local influencers. They will also manage digital communication platforms and collaborate with frontline health workers to promote routine immunization.
