This position is for the LemurDx research study, an NIH-funded project that aims to test smartwatch software (LemurDx) designed to distinguish days when children with ADHD are on versus off their medication based on their levels of hyperactivity in various contexts. The study will enroll 100 children ages 6-12 with ADHD, and involves two in-lab visits with the child and caregiver, and monitoring their data collection over 1 week of wearing the smartwatch. This study is a collaborative effort let by PI Dr. Traci Kennedy at Pitt, Dr. Mayank Goel at CMU, and Mr. Sam Shaaban at Nurelm. It is within the Youth and Family Research Program, which includes a number of other studies focusing on ADHD, digital health, and substance use.
The Research Coordinator will lead all aspects of the study, including setting up standard operating procedures and databases, participant recruitment, screening potentially eligible participants, scheduling visits, leading participant lab visits including clinical interviews with caregivers, and monitoring data collection outside of the lab. They will help the PI establish a standardized lab protocol for participant visits (including activities designed to elicit a variety of types of movement from the participant), and a behavioral coding protocol to code children’s levels of hyperactivity during the lab visit. Additionally, the Research Coordinator will oversee the work of a Research Specialist on this project as well as research students in the lab. They will help coordinate activities among the three collaborative sites and coordinate all aspects of the study. They will lead study team meetings, maintain study documentation, and oversee all IRB submissions and modifications. In addition, the research coordinator may contribute to conference presentations and/or manuscripts, though this is not required.
