Health Sciences North Research Institute Research Coordinator / Research Nurse Coordinator ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Clinical Research Manager, you will lead the coordination of assigned clinical studies from start-up through close-out, ensuring compliance with regulatory, ethical, and institutional standards. This is a dual-track posting — the position title and pay scale will reflect your qualifications (non-nurse or RPN). WHAT YOU’LL DO • Manage all phases of assigned studies and coordinate with internal departments (Pharmacy, Lab, Imaging) • Lead REB submissions, amendments, and ensure GCP/Health Canada compliance • Screen and consent participants; complete enrolment and randomization • Collect and enter data; resolve sponsor/monitor queries; maintain regulatory files • Document and report AEs/SAEs in collaboration with the PI • Coordinate pharmacy and specimen handling per protocol • Train and mentor research staff; oversee task completion • Track study budgets, participant stipends, and invoicing Research Nurse Coordinators (RPN) also provide nursing assessments, perform phlebotomy, act as a nursing resource, and may travel to participant homes within Sudbury. WHAT YOU BRING Research Coordinator • Bachelor’s in health/life sciences (or equivalent); postgraduate clinical research certificate an asset • 2+ years clinical research coordination experience, including REB submissions • EDC system experience required; SOCRA/ACRP/CCRP designation preferred Research Nurse Coordinator (RPN) • Current RPN registration (CNO) in good standing; valid BCLS/AED • 2+ years nursing experience (clinical research or specialty setting preferred); full-scope RPN practice with medication administration within last 2 years • EDC experience required; phlebotomy and REB experience an asset SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES • Able to drive results through influence and credibility rather than positional authority • Strong knowledge of GCP, Health Canada requirements, and research regulations • Excellent project management, prioritization, and communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EDC platforms • Commitment to patient safety, privacy (PHIPA), and professional development • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle; occasional Northern Ontario travel Candidates will be assessed on skill, ability, experience, and qualifications.
