MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in health-related research (clinically-related research preferred) or other equivalent preparation. Masters or PhD preferred.
  • Proven accomplishments in a health-related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of research experience; clinical research experience is an asset. Preference given to those with experience working in quantitative research with human participants.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge and experience in biostatistics.
  • Working knowledge and experience with data management tools (experience with RedCap is an asset).
  • Ability to work independently (utilizing problem-solving skills, consultation skills) and results oriented.
  • Ability to work independently as well as contributing to team development, including during the supervisor’s periodic absences from the team.
  • High-level research skills – research design, analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Skills for effective manuscript writing, abstract writing and presenting to research groups.
  • Excellent science communication.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the research coordinator are carried out in consultation with the Principal Investigator and include:

  • Leads project in collaboration with the research team.
  • Participates in the research coordination of all the research activities.
  • Prepares and submits ethics application renewals and/or amendments.
  • Prepares and submits operational approvals.
  • Provides input and develops appropriate data collection tools in RedCap.
  • Participates in participant recruitment and consent collection.
  • Undertakes clinical data collection.
  • Conducts quantitative data analysis with support from principal investigator and statistical services.
  • Assists and participates in meetings with researcher team and provides program management and coordination update.
  • Develops journal manuscripts and assists in the preparation of conference abstracts and presentations.
  • Manages documentation in a shared google drive and assists in the preparation of interim and final progress reports for granting agency.
