Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Research Data Analyst I to join our Research department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model. Reporting to a Director, Research Analytics and Data Development, the Research Data Analyst I will collaborate with investigators on study design and methodologies, build and merge data from multiple sources to create analytical datasets, validate and troubleshoot results, and assist research scientists and clients in identifying key priorities based on data insights. You can expect to: Serve as a project data analyst for multiple research studies, providing analytic support and contributing to the development of data solutions. Collaborate with investigators and research scientists to clarify data assumptions, troubleshoot issues, and guide analyses. Extract, manipulate, and merge large datasets from diverse sources; create analytical datasets using SAS, SQL, and related tools. Perform programming, data management, macros, quality control, and reporting to ensure accuracy and integrity of research data. Communicate findings clearly in written reports and oral presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders. Apply principles of research ethics and maintain compliance with federal, state, and KP regulations, ensuring patient data security and confidentiality. What is required: Bachelor’s degree in public health, biostatistics, or related field is required; master’s degree is preferred Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and managing research databases using SQL and SAS Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large and complex datasets Proven project management, organizational, and communication skills (written and oral) Ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful reports and presentations Collaborative team player with experience supporting multidisciplinary research teams Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. office as needed.
