Description

This position will function as the Research Data Analyst II for the UCSF Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Research Program.
This program is based at the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology. The program conducts patient-centered research projects, one of which is called the Empower My Congenital Heart (EMCH) study. The EMCH is a NIH-funded study designed as a digital health platform to support all patients with congenital heart conditions in navigating their care and engaging actively in their health journey. Other patient-centered projects within the ACHD Research Program include PCORI-funded stakeholder convening projects to identify patient prioritized research topics.
The ACHD research program includes ongoing mixed methods data collection, active recruitment and engagement within the EMCH digital study, ongoing intervention design and redesign, stakeholder engagement, and research data analysis and dissemination as key aspects. The research data analyst will work closely with the PI and other study researchers to support all these activities. The research data analyst will participate in regular data analysis meetings; support efforts for publication preparation; collaborate with stakeholders to devise communication plan to report study findings to clinicians and patients; and coordinate community-based communication activities, online and in-person, for the Adult Congenital Heart patient population.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $69,000 - $100,200 (Annual Rate).

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Agarwal ACHD research program studies various community-based participatory research approaches and implementation science methods for clinical research, with the goals of improving access to high quality care and outcomes.
UCSF is a top-10 medical center and a leader in cross-campus efforts to mine, harmonize, and analyze multi-modal clinical data for the University of California’s 15 million patients.
The Agarwal research program is part of the UCSF Division of Cardiology, where the abovementioned efforts are based, and the nationally ranked Department of Medicine. Projects focus on building stakeholder and community partnerships for enhancing the health and well bring, and through collaborative work with intra- and inter-institutional partners, touch the electronic health record, digital health, and other sources of data.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Global Health, Anthropology, Sociology, or Psychology or related area and/ or equivalent training / experience
  • Minimum 1+ years of directly relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of research function.
  • Working skills in statistical and qualitative analysis, systems programming, database/data management design, and data security measures.
  • Working skills in analysis and consultation.
  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in multiple settings, clinics, remote office and in academic research department
  • Knowledge of data collection activities, research studies, data collection procedures, data management best practices.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Public Health, Global Health, Anthropology, Sociology, or Psychology or related area or an equivalent training / experience
  • 1 or more years’ experience working with vulnerable populations with chronic health conditions in medical settings and/or in community-based settings (e.g. people with chronic illnesses, heart disease, cancer, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office/365, Endnote or Zotero, REDCap, Discord, Canva, and tools used for graphic designing
  • Experience writing and publishing research papers
  • Experience with conducting qualitative interviews and analysis using qualitative analysis software (i.e., NVivo, Dedoose, Atlat.TI,)
