Under the general direction of the Deputy Executive Director in the Executive Office, the Research Data Specialist II (RDS II) serves as a prime resource and subject matter expert on economics to develop macroeconomic models, prepare fiscal and economic impact analyses of proposed regulations, and advise the development of the most complex policy initiatives and rulemaking projects to support the overall economic analysis needs of the CEC. The RDS II ensures that economic impact analyses for all of CEC’s proposed regulations meet statutory requirements set forth in the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) and performs technical economic analyses that are included in each Standardized Regulatory Impact Assessment (SRIA). The incumbent provides economic expertise to advise research and analysis by CEC divisions and ensures economic operational needs for special projects are satisfied.

Working Conditions
The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance.This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.
