Hybrid Telework Opportunity
The incumbent performs technical research and statistical work to accomplish the strategic goals and objectives of the Department of Healthcare Access and Information (HCAI). The incumbent accomplishes these goals and objectives through independently planning, organizing, and implementing complex analyses of HCAI’s health facility data, patient-level data, Healthcare Payments Data, and other data and data systems. The incumbent serves as a prime resource person for the healthcare information needs of management, executive leadership, federal, state and local government agencies, the legislature, the healthcare industry, the media and the general public.
In the HCAI work environment, staff may handle confidential patient data. Specific statutes, regulations, and HCAI policies and procedures govern the collection, storage, disclosure, and use of confidential data. The employee is responsible for the safe and secure handling of this data in compliance with these policies and procedures.

Working Conditions
HCAI offers a hybrid telework schedule with a combination of remote and in-office work schedules for CA residents only. The telework policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required and/or minimal notification may be given to report to the worksite if an urgent need arises.
Telework schedules: The expectation is that all staff will work in office 4 days a week July 1, 2026.
