Under the general direction of the Building California Program Manager (SSM III) and the Deputy Building California Program Manager (SSM II), the CalSMART Data Quality Assurance Specialist (RDS II) will verify and ensure that accurate data is being entered into CalSMART, while also working to improve the quality of existing data. CalSMART is a crucial tool for SB 1 reporting and serves as the project database used by local partners to report project progress. The RDS II will manage and verify the accuracy of project information within CalSMART, ensuring the accurate submission of essential project details such as funding data, project metrics, post-mile information, and spatial data entries.Additionally, the RDS II will identify opportunities to enhance the organization and accessibility of media assets, implementing a systematic approach to optimize the organization of the project photo and video library. The incumbent will independently perform complex data analysis in response to ad-hoc research and reporting requests, utilizing business intelligence software programs to query, validate, format, and organize both structured and unstructured data. This data will be used to forecast trends and assess potential impacts in areas where changes are being implemented, particularly when existing knowledge or experience is limited.The RDS II will also be responsible for coordinating and managing complex research projects and activities. This includes defining and creating new data models and visualizations to ensure the information needs of senior departmental management are met. Senior managers rely on the RDS II as a prime resource and innovator in the subject matter, acknowledging the incumbents responsibility for designing and directing major complex research projects. These responsibilities will require a high level of skill and expertise to effectively contribute to the program’s success and ensure continuous improvement in data accuracy and quality within CalSMART.
