The Greek leading Biscuits & Bakery company Ε.J. PAPADOPOULOS S.A. is seeking to employ a talented, driven & committed: Research & Development Technologist to join the R&D team in Athens The role: As a key member of the R&D Pilot & Sensory Team, you will support and contribute to the development of new products along with the optimization of the existing brands, with respect to the strict procedures and the high-quality standards. How you will contribute: You will participate in a portfolio of R&D projects under several brands which include: Contribute to the development of new products and continuous improvement of current products by preparing and conducting pilot plant trials Prepare raw materials for pilot trials and execute product formulations according to instructions. Operate laboratory and pilot plant equipment safely and accurately Accurately record and report test results. Supporting scale-up industrial production trials when required. Provide support to quality assurance, GMP and food safety procedures of the R&D Pilot Plant Maintain cleanliness and organization of the R&D Pilot Plant Monitor stock levels of raw materials and laboratory consumables Always follow health & safety procedures. Collaborate with Production, Quality, Marketing and R&D Team Continuously develop technical knowledge and laboratory skills. What you will bring : A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge: Bachelor’s degree and/ or MS in Food Science & Technology Preferably 1-3 years of experience in a food company, ideally in developing products and/or reformulating products Experience in pilot plant and laboratory work within the food industry is an advantage- Working knowledge of standard test analysis & operation of scientific equipment and software Fluency in Greek and English is a must. Accuracy and reliability of executing pilot trials Compliance with quality and safety requirements. Computer proficient, including use of standard MS Office applications Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset Good organizational and time management skills. Team-oriented with effective communication skills. Self-discipline, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines High degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity
Responsibilities
The technologist will support new product development and existing brand optimization by preparing and conducting pilot plant trials, executing formulations, and operating laboratory equipment accurately. They will also be responsible for recording results, supporting industrial scale-up trials, and maintaining R&D Pilot Plant procedures related to quality assurance and safety.
