Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering or in another engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Experience:
1. Experience in planning and conducting engineering projects.
2. Experience in working in teams in the execution of engineering projects.
3. Experience in interpreting engineering concepts and data through the summary of technical/scientific reports or papers or writing technical/scientific reports or papers.
4. Experience in programming, developing or modifying: models, software tools or simulation programs to synthesize or interpret data.

Asset Education:

2. Courses, certificate or degree with renewable energy, energy integration, energy sustainability, community energy systems, model development, programming of complex systems, digital tool creation and related areas as substantial components of the curriculum topic from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Degree equivalency
Asset Experience:
1. Experience in designing, planning and conducting research related to renewable energy, energy sustainability, energy storage, community energy systems or clean electrification.
2. Experience in managing projects, consultants or contractors and related project tracking activities.
3. Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
4. Experience in the design, development, testing, and debugging of web applications.
5. Experience migrating single-user, locally run web applications to cloud environments.
6. Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Jest, Pytest, Selenium, Cypress).
7. Experience using languages for front-end development including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
8. Experience using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) including REST.
9. Experience using Amazon Web Service (AWS) services, including S3 for static web hosting, Cognito for user authentication, and EC2 for compute resources.
10. Experience in the application Development Operations (DevOps) practices: the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) practices for infrastructure provisioning and implementation of a Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
11. Experience with grid stability and reliability modelling (e.g., Matlab Simulink, Hypersim, PSCAD, PSS, etc.).
12. Experience with modelling the integration of renewable energy resources into power grids.
13. Experience with coding in Python to adapt or modify libraries for energy models or other purposes.
14. Experience with energy or electrical systems model development and operation (e.g., PyPSA, COPPER, ACES, etc.)
15. Experience with running optimization tools and solvers (e.g., CPLEX, GRUBI, GLPK, etc.)
16. Experience with AzureDevOps and Git, or other similar tools, for version control and project management.
17. Experience programming in MATLAB.
18. Experience simulating and analyzing energy systems in TRNSYS.
19. Experience using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) tools and applications.
