Description
We are looking for a junior data analyst to join the Cortez laboratory in the Department of Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh. The analysts will work closely with Dr. Victor S. Cortez , Assistant Professor, and the members of the Cortez lab. Data Analysis: Perform data preprocessing, quality control, and statistical analysis of biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data. Coding and Programming: Utilize programming languages such as Python, or R, to implement NGS (bulk or single cell) data analysis pipelines, automate processes, and perform statistical analysis. Collaboration: Collaborate with immunologists and computational scientists to effectively integrate bioinformatics analysis into research projects. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of methodologies, protocols, and results to facilitate reproducibility and data sharing. Time Management: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced research environment. Education: Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field. Coding and Programming – At least 1 year of experience: Comfortable with programming languages such as Python, or R. should be able to use Jupyter lab note books and/or RStudio.
