This project is a collaboration with the Australian Defence Science and Technology. It aims to develop computational representations and methods for efficient sequential decision-making under uncertainty with applications in multi-robot domain. We will explore Integrated Planning & Learning and Reinforcement Learning in non-deterministic and partially-observed scenarios. The methods will be evaluated on physical robots.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • A PhD (or close to finishing a PhD) in Robotics / Computer Science / related area
  • Proven ability to conduct high quality research, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in good venues for Robotics/AI/ML area, relative to experience.
  • Evidence of experience that is relevant to research in one or more of the following areas: Planning under uncertainty, robot motion planning, multi-robot planning, integrated planning and learning, reinforcement learning. Specific experience in POMDP would be an advantage.
  • Evidence of experience with ROS2, Gazebo, and physical robot experiments would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • A statement addressing the selection criteria.
  • A current curriculum vitae (CV) which includes the names and contact details of at least three referees (preferably including a current or previous supervisor). If your CV does not include referees you can complete these online when prompted in the application form.
