JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with expertise in synthetic biology, engineering of biological systems, to join our group at National University of Singapore for the engineering of microbes for biomanufacturing (cell factories development), a field which is rapidly developing and has great potential in providing environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions to address our ongoing challenges. The researcher will be contributing to an industrial project led by AStar SIFBI. He/she will have opportunity to work with a diverse group of scientists from NUS, AStar and the company.
Our group @ NUS (https://engbio.syncti.org) specializes in Synthetic Biology in which we engineer microbes with useful capabilities for medical and industrial applications and we are part of SynCTI at NUS (https://syncti.org).
Primary Responsibilities:
The candidate will primarily work on engineering microbes for the production of high value specialty chemical using sustainable feedstocks. This includes pathway and strain engineering. The candidate is expected to:

QUALIFICATIONS
o Experience in fast-scan cyclic voltammetry (FSCV) for neurochemical recording is highly advantageous.
Communication Skills: Possess strong written and spoken communication skills.Open to fixed term contract
