Description

Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University (Ukraine) and the University of Worcester (UK) are proud to be collaborating on a British Council-funded Gender Equality Partnerships initiative. This pioneering project—Empowering Female Leaders in Higher Education through International Peer-to-Peer Mentoring—aims to explore the transformative impact of global mentorship in supporting female academics.
We are seeking a Research Fellow to play a key role in delivering this exciting and meaningful project. The successful candidate will contribute to research and programme development that supports gender equality and leadership advancement in academia.

The main duties will be to work with academics in the UK and Ukraine to:

  • Design, conduct, and analyse qualitative interviews and focus groups with female leaders in higher education to understand the barriers they face in accessing leadership roles.
  • Coordinate and deliver mentor training and peer mentoring activities for academics in the UK and Ukraine, including virtual mentoring sessions, workshops, and a dedicated conference.
  • Develop tailored training programmes addressing the unique challenges faced by women and minority genders in academia.
  • Establish sustainable feedback mechanisms and support networks that will continue beyond the life of the project.
  • Lead on project communications, including social media engagement, information sharing, and dissemination of findings to wider audiences.

We are looking for someone who holds a doctorate in a relevant area and/or professional experience of research and who has excellent knowledge of relevant research methodologies.
Informal enquiries about the role may be addressed to Dr Rebecca Stack via email: r.stack@worc.ac.uk
