At the interface between applied science and industrial technology, Fraunhofer IPMS offers you a versatile platform to take the next step in your career! Join our team in the development of quantum components and the optimization of our manufacturing processes – as soon as possible.     What you will do Collaboration within our quantum technologies group on research and development of innovative technologies with a focus on silicon-based spin qubits and components for superconducting qubits Independent definition, development and implementation of processes for transferring promising laboratory concepts into the 300 mm high-tech cleanroom environment Optimization of process flows and metallization schemes for qubit production Close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to further develop quantum computing technologies Documentation and analysis of findings Scientific exchange and presentation of research results at conferences and participation in workshops       What you bring to the table Completed university degree (master's/ diploma) in electrical engineering, microelectronics, physics, or a comparable field with at least 5 years of professional experience, or a completed doctorate and practical experience gained in the process In-depth knowledge of semiconductor technology, e.g., thin-film deposition, BEOL process integration or solid-state physics Professional experience in cleanroom environment – ideally at the 300 mm wafer level Scientific and technical understanding in the areas of superconductivity, cryogenic characterization, micromagnet manufacturing, or quantum computing is an advantage Comprehensive knowledge of common analysis methods (e.g., AFM, SEM, 4PP, XPS) Expertise in project management and in acquiring publicly funded projects and direct industry contracts Enthusiastic and friendly personality with an analytical and solution-oriented approach to work Strong communication skills with very good German and good English skills   What you can expect We are convinced that appreciation and trust are the basis for satisfaction and motivation. This position is also available on a part-time basis. The position is initially limited to 2 years. Long-term employment is sought.
