Description

Intra-operative imaging is an exciting and intriguing field at the intersection of engineering, optics, and biomedicine. Whether at the bedside or in the operating room, real-time, image based diagnosis of disease has the potential to greatly enhance patient care. The staff will join a new research group at NTU developing miniaturized medical imaging technology.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering or Life Science or relevant specialty
  • At least 3 years experience with bioengineering or clinically relevant bioimaging or microscopy projects
  • Strong record of first-authored research work
  • Demonstrated interest in clinical translation and exposure to clinical/hospital environment and administration, experience with clinical work is a major plus
  • Experience with student supervision is a plus but not required

Responsibilities
  • Lead the clinical translation of lab-developed microscopy and optical imaging technologies
  • Enhance existing projects and platforms with doctoral expertise or prior capabilities
  • Initiate new multidisciplinary collaborations with scientists, engineers and clinicians
  • Supervise junior researchers and interns in the laboratory
  • Propose new research directions and seek funding opportunities through grant proposals
