The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. A Research Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Oliver Mueller-Cajar, School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The project will focus on functional characterization proteins that localize to the pyrenoid of the photosynthetic diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD degree in algal biochemistry or related field
• Familiarity with microalgal culture and biomolecular condensates
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency molecular biology and biochemistry
• Competent in protein biochemistry methodology (purification/assay)

The Research Fellow will take ownership of agreed upon scientific problems and fully dedicate his or her efforts towards these goals. They will devise and carry out appropriate experiments, analyse and interpret data and ultimately communicate the findings by publication in journals and attendance at scientific conferences.

• Draft manuscripts
• Supervise and train new group members (e.g. undergraduate researchers)
