The Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health is part of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care and is headed by Professor Kate Walters & Professor Greta Rait. The Department’s strategic aim is to deliver high quality teaching in community-based primary care and public health and to undertake a programme of internationally competitive multi-disciplinary research addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas which are of priority to the health of the public.
The Centre for Ageing Population Studies (CAPS) within Primary Care and Population Health runs a number of leading qualitative and quantitative studies in ageing. The Centre for Electronic Health Records research And Methodology (CEHRAM) is a multidisciplinary research team working on a range of clinical and methodological topics using primary care data.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The main role of the post will be to lead the data management and analysis of primary care electronic health records to gain insight into trends in young-onset dementia prevalence and early symptoms and risk factors that may present pre-diagnosis.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Data management and analysis of primary care data using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) database
  • Oversight of the progress of the project, including protocol writing, organizing advisory group meetings, recording minutes, preparing conference abstracts and original articles for publication.
