The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, invites application for three Research Fellow positions. NTU is a global leader in communication and information studies. Its communication program ranks among the top four globally and is the best in Asia. Similarly, its information studies program is ranked among the top three worldwide. The successful candidate will be offered a two-year contract, with the possibility of a one-year renewal based on performance. We are looking for candidates with doctoral degrees in fields relevant to communication and information and with strong potential to pursue independent research on topics such as, but not limited to, information integrity, communication and creative technologies, generative AI, health and sustainability as they intersect with information and communication processes. Applicants working in other specialisations are encouraged to apply, provided they demonstrate a clear plan for a productive research agenda aligned with one or more of the above areas. Key Responsibilities: Conduct independent as well as collaborative research and grant proposal writing with WKWSCI faculty members and students Publish in high-impact journals and present at international conferences Contribute to ongoing research projects and grant applications Engage with interdisciplinary teams across NTU Organise and participate in seminars, workshops, and public engagement activities Contribute to teaching-related duties, including course instruction, where appropriate and subject to the University's teaching needs. Job Requirements: Doctor of Philosophy in Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related social science discipline. Good project management skills, with ability to multi-task Academic writing skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multicultural, interdisciplinary environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Prior involvement in research projects, evidence of publishing in peer-reviewed journals or presenting at conferences are preferred. The research fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with one or more of the following centres based on fit and interest: Centre for Information Integrity and the Internet (IN-cube), which explores how to strengthen information integrity and safety in the digital age through research on AI, misinformation, and online trust; Centre for Healthy & Sustainable Cities (CHESS), which advances interdisciplinary research on health communication, digital health, and sustainability; and Asian Communication Research Centre (ACRC), which drives scholarship on Asian digital media, culture, and creative technologies; as well as with other research groups across the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
