PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR: ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR CATHERINE ONG, DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE
The Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory at the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is looking for highly motivated and well-qualified candidates for the post of Research Fellow to work on Murine models of Tuberculosis. The lab works on translational research i.e. spanning cellular, murine and human TB research. This position provides an excellent opportunity for persons looking to further experience in translational research including robust interactions with clinicians.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Research Fellow will design and execute experiments in M. tuberculosis infection of mice, processing of samples, and associated readouts including flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology including immunofluorescence. State-of-the art techniques include spatial transcriptomics and bioinformatics can be learnt and applied. Spatial transcriptomic work is also expected from human tissues. The person will lead in the day-to day running of experiments in the Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) and BSL3 setting, and is expected to work independently, in coordination with other junior and senior team members in the laboratory and clinicians. Supervision of junior lab members such as undergraduates and postgraduate PhD students is expected. Work with live M. tuberculosis is expected in a BSL3 setting. BSL3 experience would be advantageous but not a requirement.
