We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced research finance and administrative officer to take on the post of Research Finance and Administrative Officer at the Royal Free Campus (Centre for Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Modelling & Evaluation; CREME) within the Institute for Global Health.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the research finance and administrative activities for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Blood Borne and Sexually Transmitted Infections at UCL, as well as staff within CREME at the Royal Free Campus. This will include pre-award and post award research management as well as financial management of non-research grants. The post holder will also be responsible for the budgeting, auditing and reconciliation of finances and for providing advice, guidance and training on financial transactions and reporting to academic, research and professional staff. The post holder may also work closely with the finance teams of overseas partners to ensure that financial reports and invoices from these partners are timely processed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background with an understanding of HEI and national/international research funding. They must have excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills and demonstrate a strong team-work ethic. The role requires that the post holder can work on their own initiative and has the ability to manage several projects at once. Previous experience in a similar role and environment is essential. The post will be based at the Royal Free Campus.
This is a part-time role (i.e. 18.25 hours per week. 0.5 FTE) and it is available for 36 months in the first instance.

Salary range: £43,981 to £52,586 per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience, pro-rata for part-time staff.
