With a culturally diverse campus life and extensive international exchange and research programs, UTS prepares graduates for the workplaces of today and tomorrow.About the Role The Research Grants Officer plays a critical role in the Research Grants Team by building the quality and volume of grant funded research projects and collaborative research partnerships involving UTS researchers; and ensuring that grants are established and managed according to the funder’s governance and reporting requirements. We are seeking to recruit a replacement for an existing HEW 6/7 position. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: At HEW 6 • Providing support for Australian and international research grants, including proposal preparation, compliance, and post-award management, ensuring adherence to funding body guidelines. • Identifying and managing research funding opportunities across UTS, disseminating relevant information and assisting researchers with grant proposals, budgets, and compliance. • Offering troubleshooting and guidance on external research systems and UTS enterprise systems, supporting researchers with grant management tools and training. • Managing post-award processes including grant acceptance, project lifecycle support, and correspondence with funding bodies, researchers, and UTS staff. At HEW 7 • Leading the planning, development, and coordination of large volume Australian research grant proposals, internal grant schemes, and the post-award management process, ensuring compliance with funding body requirements. • Developing and delivering training and workshops on grant schemes, competitiveness, and grant management, while improving administrative processes for supporting funding schemes. • Managing complex grant agreements, resolve disputes, and ensure the successful delivery of research outcomes by maintaining strong relationships with funding bodies and stakeholders. With examples, please outline within your Cover Letter, how you meet the following key selection criteria: At HEW 6 1. High-level organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise, work under pressure and to strict deadlines, and carry out a diverse range of competing tasks to a high standard.2. Understanding of pre-award (research grant proposal preparation and submission processes, including developing research project budgets) and post- award (agreement and management) grant requirements.3. Experience working with data and various software / systems requiring strong attention to detail and accuracy At HEW 7 1. High-level demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential problems and opportunities to resolve them effectively, and independently where appropriate.2. Experience running and presenting training and information sessions on research funding, systems, processes to a varied audience. 3. Demonstrated expertise in building highly effective working relationships with research active academics, professional research support staff, and with external stakeholders.4. Experience managing staff for specific tasks / projects. Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $95,893 to $117,057 pa (HEW 6/7) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
