The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the nonprofit, applied research organization of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). GTRI is a designated University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) and leverages its science and engineering expertise, in collaboration with Georgia Tech, to enhance the impact of our collective research output.

JOB SUMMARY

The Research Information Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced research systems and solutions. This role involves engineering systems and automation, providing technical support, and ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of research systems and applications. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize research processes and support the organization’s research objectives.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Associate’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

No prior relevant work experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience developing Ansible playbooks combined with bash, PowerShell, and API‿s to streamline IT workflows across many platforms
Experience configuring and supporting end users on Windows, MacOS, Ubuntu, and RHEL operating systems.
Advanced problem solving skills and a drive to automate recurring IT tasks
Knowledge of Cybersecurity best practices and tools.
Trained in implementing security measures such as firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems.
Experience with documenting processes and writing guides for different hardware, software, and networking equipment.
