Description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises staff (generally ten or more employees) in a large and/or complex research laboratory. Responsible for administrative, financial, staffing and planning aspects of research. Designs instrumentation, theoretical models, equipment and other vehicles for data gathering and analysis. Designs and applies scientific and numerical models in research. Oversees development and integrity of data collection and instruments. Conducts on-going, periodic and final analyses of data, using specialized techniques and programming. Writes and collaborates with other researchers on manuscripts, abstracts and other publications of research findings. Collaborates with other researchers on long-range plan for overall research. Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in a scientific field; related master's degree preferred. Five years of professional research experience. Three years of supervisory experience. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.
