Job Title: Part-Time Research Nurse Coordinator
Location: Emory University Hospital & Emory Midtown Hospital – Atlanta, Georgia
Type: Part-Time Contractor
Position Overview:
Emory University is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Nurse Coordinator to support DIR protocol activities. This part-time role plays a critical role in managing clinical trial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting data integrity across multiple research studies.

Shall provide a variety of research support services including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Participant Screening:

Review medical records and conduct protocol-required testing to determine eligibility for clinical trials.

  • Data Collection & Management:

Attend procedures to gather non-standard data, document findings in subject binders and databases, and coordinate investigator sign-off for oversight.

  • Imaging File Management:

Upload imaging files for review and troubleshoot transmission errors.

  • Monitoring Visit Preparation:

Facilitate third-party data monitoring by ensuring subject binders are complete and accurate, and source documentation is available.

  • Adverse Event Reporting:

Document and report safety events, including those occurring off-site, and coordinate investigator reviews.

  • Regulatory Oversight:

Manage IRB submissions, contract execution, and obtain approvals from Emory sub-committees. Ensure annual reviews for trial continuation.

  • Coordination with NHLBI:

Collaborate with NHLBI Data Monitors and the NHLBI Research Manager to ensure protocol alignment and data integrity.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in clinical trials management and clinical research settings.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, documentation review, and patient monitoring techniques.
  • Familiarity with statistical software for data analysis is highly desirable.
  • Experience with clinical laboratory procedures and blood sampling techniques.
  • Knowledge of compliance management related to FDA regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in data collection and management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while effectively supervising staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for successful interactions with patients and team members.
