An exciting opportunity has arisen within the evolving area of human nutrition research at the Institute of Metabolic Science (https://www.ims.cam.ac.uk/). We are seeking a research nurse to join our efforts to increase the current knowledge in human metabolism. The role offers an exceptional opportunity to join Dr. Maria Chondronikola’s and Professor Sir Stephen O’Rahilly’s groups which are based in the highly collaborative environment and world-leading institute at the University of Cambridge.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual as a Research Nurse. The post holder will be in contact with a broad professional group, as well as members of the public and research sponsors, therefore excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are paramount. We are seeking a flexible, motivated team player with considerable nursing experience and an interest and enthusiasm for research. Experience in human physiology/metabolism and/or clinical research would be advantageous. The post holder will be an integral member of the research team, involved in recruiting to, and coordinating, any studies in this area of research.

Major responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinating studies
  • Recruitment strategies/recruiting patients
  • Maintaining accurate records/other documentation and contributing to report writing
  • Performing several clinical study activities with patients
