Responsibilities:
The Renal Health Program within the Wellbeing and Preventable Chronic Disease Division has a strong focus on evidence translation, identifying new and innovative strategies to improve service delivery and program evaluation to inform policy. It works in partnership with government and non-government health services locally and at the national level to identify, develop and support innovative strategies to facilitate improved management of chronic and kidney disease, improve the patient journey and strengthen health systems.
The Research Nurse will support and provide collaborative, appropriate, proficient and coordinated support for the implementation and uptake of Territory Kidney Care (TKC) system within remote primary health services. This includes working with and alongside nursing, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and medical staff.
This position will be embedded in the TKC project team which includes clinicians, software developers, business analysts and evaluators and will work closely with the Northern Territory Government (NTG) TKC Administrator and Health Informatics Clinical Nurse Specialist to support implementation in remote primary health services.
Some key duties involved with this role include:
- Apply clinical and technical knowledge, skills, attributes and abilities to support the widespread implementation and uptake of TKC to ensure maximum benefit is gained from the system.
- Identify and feedback to the team, clinician and health service requirements to improve functionality, barriers to uptake and support data cleaning, rule testing and validation.
- Oversee and manage the budget and expenses, including reporting expenditure in accordance with agreed budget allocations and timelines, and financial liaising with the Business Manager and Finance team as required.
- Recognised by the team for their expertise, being a resource for others, and engaging in agreed independent practice under the supervision and management of the team.
