Job Description
An excellent opportunity is available for a Research Officer to join the Groom Laboratory in the Immunology Division at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.
About the Position
This position, funded by an NHMRC Synergy grant, aims to integrate cellular and molecular immunology to identify the mechanistic correlates of durable vaccine protection. Key responsibilities include characterization of cellular and humoral responses following vaccination using flow cytometry, advanced molecular and imaging analysis of in vivo and ex vivo models and patient observational datasets.
This role is ideal for a curious and ambitious scientist eager to tackle complex biological questions, and work at the forefront of immunology and vaccinology. The successful candidate will lead your own projects while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team of researchers, including internal and external experts in vaccine chemistry, drug delivery, infectious disease, mathematical modelling, bioinformatics, and clinical and industry partners
Our lab aims to understand lymphoid positioning and cellular interactions as key leverage points that direct the outcomes of immune responses and to apply these discoveries to drive the generation of immunotherapy for the prevention and treatment of immunological and infectious disease and cancer. The Groom lab is a vibrant and inclusive environment with a core value of mentoring the next generation of curious, creative immunologists to take on new challenges to improve human health.
